CICOA and the Indiana State Department of Health have teamed up to provide free USDA food to help meet the nutritional needs of low-income older adults in Marion County. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides boxes of nutritional, nonperishable food, such as canned fruits and vegetables, cold cereal, cheese and bottled juice. USDA food is boxed and shipped by Gleaners Food Bank to 8 distribution sites across Marion County. CICOA manages the application process and onsite food distribution. Eligibility for the CSFP food boxes is based on age, income, and residency.
