An annual award sponsored by CICOA
Entries are due Friday, March 9, 2018 at http://www.cicoa.org/nominate.
We’re looking for inspiring caregiver stories! The Caregiver of the Year Contest honors one personal caregiver in Central Indiana who models courage, sacrifice, strength and creativity while caring for another. This year, however, CICOA is making a change to the contest rules to better align the contest with its purpose.
Instead of asking the public to nominate a caregiver, we are asking caregivers to share stories from their own caregiving journey to give insight and inspiration to other caregivers. Anyone in Central Indiana who was an unpaid caregiver for a family member or friend in 2017 is eligible.
Possible topics include:
- How or why you became a caregiver
- How caregiving has impacted your relationships
- Unexpected lessons you have learned from caregiving
- What has been most meaningful to you as a caregiver
- What helps you maintain a positive focus as a caregiver
Stories must be true and, in the case of a family member or friend submitting the story on behalf of a caregiver, must have the caregiver’s knowledge and consent. Stories may be submitted online at http://www.cicoa.org/nominate.
Caregiver stories are due Friday, March 9, 2018. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize, be recognized at CICOA’s annual Signature Breakfast on Wednesday, April 18, and be featured in the May-June edition of KIT magazine.
This contest is governed by these official rules. By participating in the contest, each entrant agrees to abide by these rules, including all eligibility requirements, and understands that the results of the contest, as determined by CICOA and its agents, are final in all respects. If you are submitting a story on behalf of someone else, you must fill out all required fields on the entry form and have the individual’s permission to enter them in the contest.
If a previously published story is submitted, the author must be able to grant full rights to the story as described under Intellectual Property Rights below.
