Presenter: Lisa Schneekloth, Interim CEO of CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions
The Community Assessment Survey for Older Adults (CASOA) measures the strengths and needs of older adults as reported by themselves. This report is intended to enable local governments, community-based organizations, the private sector and other community members to understand and predict the services and resources required to serve an aging population.
CASOA assesses six community dimensions, as well as Overall Community Quality:
- Community Design
- Employment and Finances
- Equity and Inclusivity
- Health and Wellness
- Information and Assistance
- Productive Activities
The survey of people aged 60 and older in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan and Shelby counties late last year found that Central Indiana is generally rated as a great place to live and retire. We will explore the aspects that make it great, as well as some areas for improvement.
Lisa Schneekloth will share key findings from the 2024 CASOA survey, which will be followed by a Q&A discussion.
Who should attend? Any professional who works with older adults in Central Indiana, older adults living in the 8-county area, caregivers, advocates, and representatives from local governments and community-based organizations.
