Join CICOA for the 2026 Envision Lecture Series presented by Anthem, a professional development series focused on the urgent and timely issue of innovation in social care services.

The Care Advantage: Why CBOs are the Future of Social Care Innovation

Care is being redefined in real time. As our communities navigate the complexities of aging, disability, and the growing demands on family caregivers, the status quo is no longer enough. The question is no longer if social care must change, but who has the trust and the talent to lead that transformation.

Across the country, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) are the ones designing the future. Rooted in relationships and lived experience, CBOs offer a unique "Care Advantage"—the ability to innovate where it matters most: in the heart of our communities.

What to Expect
In this Envision Lecture, join us for a virtual fireside chat featuring Jonathan Haag, VP of Innovation at CICOA, and Abigail Morgan, President & CEO of Direction Home. Together, they will explore how innovation takes root when leadership is close to the people it serves.

Key discussion points include:

  • Proximity as a Catalyst: Why being "on the ground" allows CBOs to solve problems that larger systems miss.
  • The Power of Collaboration: Moving beyond competition to create a unified ecosystem of support.
  • National Perspective, Local Impact: Identifying the trends shaping the next wave of social care innovation.
  • Leading from Within: How to foster a culture of creativity and hope within community-led systems.

This session is more than a presentation; it is an invitation to reimagine social care. We aren't just managing a system—we are shaping a future where care is intentional, innovative, and deeply human.
