CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions has announced that it will receive 500 Ring camera devices to distribute and support Indiana seniors, individuals with disabilities and their caregivers.
A community initiative granted through USAging, Ring is donating Video Doorbells and Stick Up Cams with the goal of addressing home safety and accessibility, social isolation and caregiver support. Only 10 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) across the country were selected for this initiative. This new program will further support CICOA’s mission to help Indiana seniors and people of any age with a disability to maintain their independence and quality of life as they age.
“CICOA is dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults and people with disabilities in Indiana,” shared Tauhric Brown, President and CEO, CICOA. “Providing these groups with advanced technology helps increase their wellbeing and safety. This collaboration between Ring, USAging and CICOA reflects a shared commitment to supporting the independence of vulnerable populations. We’re thrilled to be granted the opportunity to provide a service like this.”
A nonprofit organization, CICOA is the largest AAA in the state serving Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan and Shelby Counties in Central Indiana. The agency connects Central Indiana’s older adults and people with disabilities and their caregivers to the care they need.
“Since 2021, we’ve supported AAAs throughout the country and have learned how eager older adults are to use technology that is accessible, convenient, and helps increase peace of mind as they age independently at home,” said Karla Torres, Head of Community Engagement at Amazon Devices & Services. “We are proud to support 10 additional AAAs and provide Ring technology for older adults in each community. We look forward to collaborating and learning alongside AAAs and ensuring that Amazon technology continues to support the needs of all users.”

“Ring is a technology that addresses critical needs of older adults by adding a layer of safety and allowing older adults to see who is at their door,” said USAging CEO Sandy Markwood. “This partnership between Ring and AAAs will easily get devices into the hands of older adults most in need and help them to age safely in their homes and community.”
