CICOA Achieves National Inform USA Accreditation

Accreditation recognizes CICOA’s commitment to accurate information, trusted guidance and high-quality community resource navigation

CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions has achieved accreditation from Inform USA, a national organization that establishes professional standards and best practices for programs connecting people with health and human services.

The five-year accreditation recognizes the exceptional work of CICOA’s Aging & Disability Resource Center and its commitment to providing accurate information, thoughtful guidance and trusted referrals to older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers.

“This accreditation is a tremendous accomplishment for CICOA and a reflection of the expertise, compassion and dedication of our Aging & Disability Resource Center team,” said Lisa Schneekloth, president and CEO of CICOA. “People often contact us while navigating difficult or unfamiliar circumstances. Our team listens, helps them understand their options and connects them with resources that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.”

Achieving Inform USA accreditation requires organizations to successfully complete a rigorous evaluation process that can take up to 12 months. The process includes an assessment of compliance with national standards, a detailed review of the organization’s resource database, secret-shopper evaluations, feedback from community organizations and a virtual site visit.

The evaluation examines the full experience of seeking assistance, including how staff identify a person’s needs, the accuracy and impartiality of the information provided, the quality of referrals and the organization’s commitment to follow-up and continuous improvement.

For CICOA, the accreditation affirms the strength of its community resource network and the organization’s ability to help people navigate complex systems of care. Rather than simply providing a list of services, CICOA’s specialists work with each person to understand their circumstances and identify resources that fit their individual needs.

“This recognition gives people additional confidence that when they contact CICOA, they are reaching an organization that meets nationally recognized standards for quality and service,” Schneekloth said. “It also reinforces what we already know about our team: They are highly skilled professionals who care deeply about helping people find the right support.”
