Medicaid Waiver waiting lists begin to reopen

Written by

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s (FSSA) Office of Medicaid Policy & Planning has begun to invite individuals off the waiting lists for PathWays and Health & Wellness waivers.

FSSA had implemented the waiting list in April as part of the Medicaid strategies when the Aged and Disabled waiver reached maximum capacity. On July 1, the Aged and Disabled waiver split into two waivers based on age: PathWays for Aging for individuals aged 60 and above, and Health & Wellness for individuals aged 59 and below.

On July 1, FSSA announced they would begin inviting individuals off the PathWays Waiver and Health and Wellness Waiver waiting lists. An “invitation” off the waiting list indicates that there is space for you on the respective waiver if you meet all eligibility requirements for receiving services. If you accept the invitation, please work with your options counselor at CICOA (or your local Area Agency on Aging) to begin the process.

FSSA has provided the following resources:

When your name comes up on the waiting list, you will receive a letter of invitation in the mail from FSSA. The Area Agency on Aging will assign an options counselor to contact you to schedule an in-person assessment. You may also reach out to your Area Agency on Aging to initiate the process. (CICOA’s phone number is 317-803-6131.)
