CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions today announced the recipients of its annual Community Champions Awards, an event recognizing outstanding individuals, businesses and organizations that have made a significant impact on the lives of older adults, people with disabilities and their family caregivers. This year’s awards honor those who have demonstrated exceptional collaboration, innovation and dedication to CICOA’s mission.

CICOA presented seven awards during its inaugural Community Champions Awards on Aug. 12 to honor the contributions of volunteers, donors and partner organizations. Plus, one special senior was recognized with the Hoosier Legacy Award.

The Innovation Award honors an organization that has created and implemented new programs, practices or policies that impact CICOA’s ability to serve its clients and community. We are proud to honor Purdue University Center for Health Excellence, Quality, and Innovation (CHEQI) for their pivotal role in the development and growth of CICOA’s Community Health Worker (CHW) program. As an invaluable ally and trusted thought partner, CHEQI has offered strategic foresight and technical expertise, helping CICOA navigate the complexities of sustainability planning, service delivery models and health excellence.

Bose Public Affairs is a force for good, tirelessly advocating for the services provided by CICOA and the statewide network of Area Agencies on Aging. Thanks to their support, CICOA has been able to build key relationships with legislators and policymakers. With weekly touchpoints offering strategic support, Bose has shown their commitment to CICOA’s mission for the betterment of the community we serve.

The Impact Award honors a philanthropic donor whose contributions to CICOA have made a significant impact on the quality of life for CICOA clients. This year’s recipient, VRI + Guardian Medical Monitoring, has been a dedicated sponsor of CICOA Foundation events for two decades. The company’s deep commitment to helping older adults live safely and independently was demonstrated through a recent $10,000 gift to celebrate CICOA’s 50th anniversary. This monumental contribution not only served client needs but also reinforced a powerful corporate commitment to social impact in the community.
