Herman & Kittle Supports CICOA’s Holiday Assistance Program

Written by

Herman & Kittle Properties has been a valued partner with CICOA at the Nora Commons senior apartment complex for 10 years. While the Herman & Kittle team specializes in real estate development, construction and design, the organization makes a point to get involved in the community through volunteer work, such as this year supporting CICOA’s Very Merry Days holiday assistance program.

“Herman & Kittle provides two paid community days for our employees to volunteer at a non-profit organization during regularly scheduled work hours,” said Jenice Myers, director of development services at Herman & Kittle. “Our goal is to provide a forum for all employees to volunteer and give back to the community in a personal way.”

Participating in CICOA’s Very Merry Days program isn’t the first time Herman & Kittle has supported the agency. During this decade-long partnership, they’ve been involved in numerous events, including CICOA’s health walk with a dietician and as a long-time sponsor of the Signature Breakfast.

This year, approximately 15 Herman & Kittle employees will be participating in CICOA’s holiday assistance program by supplying much-needed items.

“We’ll be shopping and donating items for seniors,” Myers said. “We check in with staff at CICOA to see which items make the biggest difference.”

Typical items include dental hygiene products, paper towels, tissues, shower brushes, nail clippers, no-rinse bathing wipes, denture adhesive, long-handled hair brushed, no-rinse shampoo caps, and the like.

“We’ll be coming to CICOA on Dec. 10 to wrap those items,” Myers said. “Then the items will be distributed to clients by care managers and volunteers.”

By being a sponsor and assisting in programs like this, Herman & Kittle and other organizations in Central Indiana can partner with CICOA to transform the community into a place where older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers can flourish.

“As our company continues to grow,” Myers said, “we hope to duplicate what we’ve been doing at Nora Commons for CICOA at other future developments.”
