CICOA receives grant from Central Indiana COVID-19 Community Economic Relief Fund

The Central Indiana COVID-19 Community Economic Relief Fund (C-CERF) has awarded $75,000 to CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions to support the emerging needs of clients during the COVID-19 outbreak. CICOA is one of 46 organizations receiving immediate grants from C-CERF.

C-CERF is a community fund established by founding partners Lilly Endowment Inc., Central Indiana Community Foundation, Eli Lilly and Company Foundation, Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation and United Way of Central Indiana to support human services organizations and the individuals and families they serve who are affected directly and indirectly by the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis.

“Many partners have come together to set up this emergency fund to assist non-profit organizations continuing to drive their missions during this pandemic. CICOA appreciates this funding that allows us to meet emergency needs as they arise,” said Tauhric Brown, CICOA President & CEO.

CICOA’s immediate focus is ensuring that there is no interruption of daily meals for seniors who rely on the Meals & More program. CICOA’s neighborhood meal sites and voucher meal locations are closed due to the health crisis, so these clients will be receiving home-delivered meals for the foreseeable future.

C-CERF’s first round of emergency funding supports Central Indiana organizations working to meet critical needs. This unrestricted funding allows CICOA to sustain operations and provide services to support individuals and families who are affected directly and indirectly by the economic impacts related to the COVID-19 crisis.
