Help Us Serve You Better: Complete the 2024 CASOA Survey

Written by

Central Indiana older adults — Your voices matter. Your experiences shape our community. CICOA and our partner organizations are committed to ensuring that our services meet your unique needs. We’re inviting you to share your thoughts and perspectives through the 2024 Community Assessment Survey for Older Adults (CASOA).

Your input is invaluable. It helps us identify areas where we can improve, address challenges and create programs that truly support your wellbeing.

The 2024 CASOA survey is now open. All Indiana residents aged 60 or older are encouraged to participate by visiting polco.us/indiana24.

This survey is conducted by the State of Indiana in partnership with the network of Area Agencies on Aging statewide and Polco, a trusted research firm and civic engagement organization. The questionnaire, developed by National Research Center at Polco, gathers insights from seniors about their experiences with local employment and volunteer opportunities, housing, accessibility, mobility, and physical and mental health.

Survey results will help identify the greatest challenges and needs for older adults across the state. This public input will support the development of related policies, initiatives, and community programs.

As we continue to conduct this survey every few years, CICOA and other community leaders can better understand your quality of life, your challenges and your concerns.

Since the last survey in 2021, we’ve made significant strides in addressing some of the key issues you raised. For example, we’ve re-introduced the My Freedom transportation program for cross-county travel and launched a Community Health Worker initiative to help vulnerable seniors access vital resources they may not have known about. However, we know there’s still more work to be done.

Your participation is vital. By completing the CASOA survey, you’re not just sharing your experiences; you’re shaping the future of our community. Together, we can create a more age-friendly and inclusive environment for all.

I encourage all Hoosiers to share the survey link and details with their local networks, to ensure Indiana’s upcoming plans meet the needs of our aging population.

Eligible residents can access the survey online at:

Participants’ responses are kept confidential, and personal information is securely stored on Polco. Individual data and votes are never shared. This survey is available online in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Vietnamese, Hindi, and Tagalog.
